Mac + Cheese

New York State Ag in the Classroom's Mac + Cheese Challenge offers the perfect avenue for demonstrating cultural literacy through food. To compete in the competition, our learners develop and test a recipe, then create marketing materials to accompany their recipe.

All learners must demonstrate knowledge of another culture's foodways through their recipe. After they learn about the historical origins of mac + cheese, they begin to research other cultures and foodways. Their final recipe must demonstrate understanding of their chosen culture.
